Official specs show a change from the Ultra 3, which supported 5 systems, while the Apple Watch Series 12 keeps GLONASS
According to specs Apple published, the Apple Watch Ultra 4 no longer supports Russia's GLONASS satellite system, even though the Ultra 3 supported all 5 systems.
The new model still supports GPS, Galileo, QZSS, and BeiDou. The Apple Watch Series 12 still has GLONASS, since it's single-frequency, where the impact of GLONASS's L1 signal is smaller.
Apple gave no official reason, but experts believe it likely improves positioning accuracy, reduces processing load, and may help battery life.
