A joint report from ABB and Verdantix says Thailand is at an energy turning point, needing to add power capacity and upgrade automation in existing factories simultaneously
ABB's Energy Industries business area revealed research conducted with Verdantix showing Thai industry faces energy pressure from multiple directions at once, after 2025 investment promotion applications hit a record 1.88 trillion baht, led by digital, data centers, and high-value manufacturing — sectors needing more stable, cleaner electricity.
The report suggests staying competitive long-term requires doing two things together: expanding power generation capacity and upgrading process automation at existing factories, rather than choosing one or the other.
